Tire Sidewalls: Uses, Benefits & Buying Guide

A complete guide to recycled tire sidewalls โ€” what they are, how they're produced, and why farms, landscapers, and contractors buy them. Semi $3.50 each. Passenger $1.50 each.

What Are Tire Sidewalls?

Tire sidewalls are the curved rubber rings cut from the sides of passenger and semi-truck tires during our processing operation. When we shred tires for TDF (tire-derived fuel) or other recycled products, the sidewalls are removed first using our BCA SWC 100E sidewall remover. Instead of discarding them, we sell them as a useful, affordable byproduct.

Sidewalls are one of the most versatile and cost-effective recycled rubber products available. They last for years without decomposing, they're weather-resistant, and they're heavy enough to hold down tarps, line feed troughs, and create durable barriers โ€” all at a fraction of the cost of new materials.

We offer two sizes: semi-truck sidewalls ($3.50 each) for heavy-duty agricultural and industrial applications, and passenger tire sidewalls ($1.50 each) for garden edging, landscaping, and lighter-duty projects.

Common Uses for Tire Sidewalls

๐ŸŒพ

Silage Cover Weights

The #1 use for semi sidewalls. Heavy enough to hold down silage tarps on bunker silos and ag piles โ€” far more effective than passenger tire sidewalls or rocks.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ

Erosion Control & Barriers

Used on slopes, embankments, and drainage areas to prevent soil erosion. Their large size covers more ground per unit than other materials.

๐ŸŒฟ

Garden Edging & Landscaping

Passenger sidewalls make effective garden bed borders, pathway edging, and decorative landscaping elements. Won't rot like wood edging.

๐Ÿ„

Livestock & Farm Use

Feed trough liners, water container bases, livestock barriers, and protective bumpers around farm structures and equipment.

๐Ÿ

Construction & Site Work

Temporary barriers, wheel chocks for heavy equipment, and protective bumpers on construction and demolition sites.

โ™ป๏ธ

DIY & Creative Projects

Planters, tire swings, obstacle courses, yard art, and recycled material craft projects for schools and communities.
