Portable Tire Shredding
We Bring the Plant to You
100% Mobile Tactical Fleet. High-powered, self-contained portable shredders deploy directly to your county landfill, municipal yard, illegal dump site, or remote job site — anywhere in the country.
Relentless throughput: 175 to 257 tires per hour (3–5 TPH). We shred material on-site before it ever touches a truck — eliminating the “hauling air” problem and clearing space rapidly.
Zero “Hauling Air” Advantage
Traditional haulers move whole tires — transporting mostly empty pockets of air, capping trailers at 10–12 tons. We shred on-site, pack every trailer to its legal weight limit, and drastically cut your freight costs.
SC DHEC Registered — Permit #WTH000541. Fully insured with workers' comp. Full manifests on every load. Every tire destroyed and recycled — zero liability, zero resale risk.

What Does 3–5 Tons Per Hour Actually Mean?
~200
Passenger tires per hour
~40
Tons per 8-hour day
~1,600
Tires per day (passenger)
~200
Tons per 5-day week
Throughput varies by tire type and site logistics. Semi tires process at lower rates than passenger tires due to size and steel content. Semi tires require sidewall removal before shredding. OTR tires are not shredded on-site — they are hauled back to our facility for processing.
How It Works
From Tire Pile to Clean Site in One Visit
Our portable tire shredding service is designed to be as simple as possible for you. We handle everything — mobilization, shredding, hauling, and documentation.
You Call — We Assess
Tell us your location, tire volume, tire types, and site access. We'll give you a written quote — usually same day. For large projects (5,000+ tires), we can do a free site visit to assess access, pile configuration, and logistics.
We Mobilize the Shredder
Our BCA PD1000 portable tire shredder is towed directly to your site on its custom trailer. It's road-legal and doesn't require oversized load permits for most routes. We handle all logistics — you just need to provide site access.
Shred Everything On-Site
Tires are fed into the shredder hopper and processed into 2" chips at 3–5 tons per hour. The outfeed conveyor loads chips directly into trucks or stockpile areas. Our crew operates the equipment — you don't need to supply any labor.
We Haul the Chips Away
Shredded material is loaded and hauled to our processing facility or directly to end-market buyers (cement kilns, TDA projects). You can also keep TDA chips on-site for drainage, fill, or other uses — we'll document either way.
Full Compliance Documentation
You receive signed manifests documenting every load — tire count, chip tonnage, and destination. This satisfies SC DHEC and GA EPD requirements and protects your property from future liability. Records retained for your inspections.

FAQ
Portable Shredding — Frequently Asked Questions
What is portable tire shredding?
Portable tire shredding means we bring our industrial tire shredder — a BCA PD1000 mounted on a custom trailer — directly to your site. We shred passenger and semi tires in place, eliminating the need to load and transport whole tires. Semi tires have their sidewalls removed first before shredding. The shredded material (2" chips) is then hauled away or left on-site for your use. OTR tires cannot be shredded on-site — we haul those back to our facility for processing.
What tire types can you shred on-site?
We can shred passenger tires and semi tires on-site. Semi tires require sidewall removal first — we remove the sidewalls before shredding the tire body. OTR (off-the-road) tires such as large loader, haul truck, and heavy equipment tires cannot be shredded on location. There is nobody in the industry that shreds OTR tires on-site — they require facility-based processing. We haul OTR tires back to our facility to process them.
How many tires can you shred per day?
Our BCA PD1000 processes 3–5 tons per hour — approximately 200 passenger tires per hour or 40 tons per 8-hour day. Semi tires process at lower rates due to their size, steel content, and the need for sidewall removal before shredding. A typical 1,000-tire passenger pile can be cleared in one day.
What size chips does the portable shredder produce?
Our standard output is 2 inches or smaller, processed through 2-inch screens. This is the specification required by most cement kilns for TDF (tire-derived fuel) and meets ASTM D6270 requirements for TDA (tire-derived aggregate) applications.
How much does portable tire shredding cost?
Call for pricing. Every project is custom quoted based on volume, tire types, site access, and distance. Mobilization is included in the project quote. Contact us at 843-376-1948 for a written quote.
What states do you provide portable shredding in?
We provide portable tire shredding services across South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. Our primary service areas are within 250 miles of Georgetown, SC and 100 miles of Hartwell, GA. For large projects, we'll travel further — contact us for a custom quote.
Can you shred OTR tires on-site?
No. OTR (off-the-road) tires — such as large loader, haul truck, and heavy equipment tires — cannot be shredded on location. There is nobody in the industry that shreds OTR tires on-site. We haul OTR tires back to our facility for processing. We can still pick them up from your site — they just get processed at our plant, not on your property.
How do you handle semi tires for on-site shredding?
Semi tires require sidewall removal before they can be shredded. We use our BCA SWC 100E sidewall remover to take the sidewalls out first, then shred the tire body on-site. The sidewalls are sold separately for agricultural and construction use.
What happens to the shredded material?
Shredded tire chips are processed into tire-derived fuel (TDF) for cement kilns, tire-derived aggregate (TDA) for civil engineering, crumb rubber for playgrounds and sports turf, or rubber mulch for landscaping. Nothing goes to a landfill. You can also keep TDA chips on-site for drainage, fill, or other uses.
Do you provide compliance documentation for on-site shredding?
Yes. Every load removed from your site is documented with a signed manifest meeting SC DHEC and GA EPD requirements. You receive full chain-of-custody documentation from shredding to final destination — protecting your property from future liability.
How long does it take to mobilize the shredder to my site?
Typical mobilization is 3–7 business days from quote approval, depending on current schedule and distance. For emergency or urgent projects, we can often mobilize faster — call to discuss your timeline.
Can I keep the shredded chips on my property?
Yes. If you want to use the TDA chips for drainage, fill, or other on-site applications, we can shred and stockpile the material on your property instead of hauling it away. This can reduce your project cost significantly. We'll provide documentation either way.
